Guide for Authors

In order to submit an article, it shouldn’t be published previously except if it is an academic lecture or thesis or an abstract, the paper shouldn’t be considered for publishing elsewhere, all the authors should approve the publication and explicitly by the organization or place the work was done, and they should approve that the article if accepted in the journal, it wouldn’t be put for publication elsewhere in the same form, even if in different language without the consent of the publisher.

The editors reserve the right to edit or otherwise alter all contributions, but authors will receive proofs for approval before publication.

The publisher and journals have a zero-tolerance plagiarism policy. Plagiarism is not allowed in the journal and is checked by a plagiarism prevention tool (iThenticate) and a reviewer check. All submissions will be checked by iThenticate before being sent to reviewers.

Authors permit the publisher to apply a DOI to their articles and to archive them in databases and indexes.

Review Process

Manuscripts are evaluated on the basis that they present novelty into the investigated topic and are likely to enhancing research progress. It is understood that all authors listed on a manuscript have agreed to its submission. The signature of the corresponding author on the letter of submission signifies that these conditions have been fulfilled. Received manuscripts will initially be examined by the AIJPMS editorial office and those deemed to have insufficient grounds for publication may be rejected without external evaluation. Manuscripts not prepared in the advised style described below will be sent back to authors for correction. The authors will be notified with the reference number once the manuscript has been assigned to Section Editor. The assigned manuscripts will be sent to 2-4 independent experts for scientific evaluation. The evaluation process commonly takes an average of 1-4 months. Editors are not involved in decisions about papers which they have written themselves or have been written by family members or colleagues or which relate to products or services in which the editor has an interest. Any such submission is subject to all of the journal's usual procedures, with peer review handled independently of the relevant editor and their research groups.

Disclaimer

Every effort is made by the publisher and editorial board to ensure that no inaccurate or misleading data or statements appear in the AIJPMS. However, they wish to make it clear that the data and opinions appearing in the articles herein are the responsibility of the authors concerned. Accordingly, the publisher and the editorial board accept no liability whatsoever for the consequences of any inaccurate or misleading data or statements, intentional or not.

Manuscript type:

  • Original Research Article: Articles which represent in-depth research in various pharmaceutical and medical disciplines.
  • Review Article
  • Short Communication
  • Case study

Ethical approval

Studies on patients or volunteers require Ethics Committee and/or Independent Review Board (IRB) approval, and, where relevant, the patients' written informed consent, which should be documented in the Methods section of the paper with the approval number. If such a study was not approved by the appropriate Ethics Committee or IRB, a statement as to why it was exempted should be included. The Editors reserve the right to refuse publications where the required ethical approval/patient consent is lacking.

Studies in humans and animals

If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans. The manuscript should be in line with the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals and aim for the inclusion of representative human populations (sex, age and ethnicity) as per those recommendations. The terms sex and gender should be used correctly.

Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.

All animal experiments should comply with the ARRIVE guidelines and should be carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines, EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments, or the National Research Council's Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals and the authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed. The sex of animals must be indicated, and where appropriate, the influence (or association) of sex on the results of the study.

Conflict of Interest (mandatory)

A conflict of interest may exist when an author or the author's institution has financial or other affiliations with people or organizations that may inappropriately influence the author's work. A conflict can be actual or potential and full disclosure to the journal is the safest course. All submissions to the journal must include disclosure of any relationships that could be viewed as potential conflicts of interest. The journal may use such information as a basis for editorial decisions and may publish such disclosures if they are believed to be important to readers in judging the manuscript. This declaration (with the heading "Conflict of interests") should be uploaded among the files submitted on Editorial Manager. Additional information regarding conflicts of interest can be found at http://www.wame.org/conflict-of-interest-editorial#ref1

 Author contributions

For transparency, we encourage authors to submit an author statement file outlining their individual contributions to the paper using the relevant CRediT roles: Conceptualization; Data curation; Formal analysis; Funding acquisition; Investigation; Methodology; Project administration; Resources; Software; Supervision; Validation; Visualization; Roles/Writing - original draft; Writing - review & editing. Authorship statements should be formatted with the names of authors first and CRediT role(s) following. More details and an example

Changes to authorship

Request to changes in authorship is not allowed once the paper is accepted. In case any such changes need to be made then the author would have to withdraw his paper and resubmit it with the new author details in the Editorial System.

Clinical trial results

In line with the position of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, the journal will not consider results posted in the same clinical trials registry in which primary registration resides to be prior publication if the results posted are presented in the form of a brief structured (less than 500 words) abstract or table. However, divulging results in other circumstances (e.g., investors' meetings) is discouraged and may jeopardise consideration of the manuscript. Authors should fully disclose all posting in registries of results of the same or closely related work.

Reporting clinical trials

Randomized controlled trials should be presented according to the CONSORT guidelines. At manuscript submission, authors must provide the CONSORT checklist accompanied by a flow diagram that illustrates the progress of patients through the trial, including recruitment, enrollment, randomization, withdrawal and completion, and a detailed description of the randomization procedure. The CONSORT checklist and template flow diagram are available online.

Role of the funding source
Please list the source(s) of funding for the study, for each author, and for the manuscript preparation in the acknowledgments section. List all contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship, such as technical assistants, writing assistants or head of departments who provided only general support. Financial and other material support should be disclosed and acknowledged.

Open access

The Journal of AIJPMS is an open access journal: all articles will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. To provide open access, this journal has an open access fee of L.E. 800 and for foreigners USD 150.  The Journal has a waiving policy for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process. All articles will be published under the following license.

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
For non-commercial purposes, let others distribute and copy the article, and to include in a collective work, as long as they credit the author(s) and provided they do not alter or modify the article.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in English in a clear and concise manner. Any author who is not fluent in idiomatic English is urged to seek assistance with manuscript preparation prior to submission. Reviewers are not expected to correct grammatical errors and any deficiency in this area may detract from the scientific content of the paper and result in acceptance delays or rejection

Submission

Our online submission system guides you stepwise through the process of entering your article details and uploading your files. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.

Revised manuscripts

The authors must submit the revised version of their submissions within ten days of receiving the editorial decision. Revision does not mean that the manuscript will be accepted for publication, as the amended submissions could be sent out for reevaluation. In response to reviewers? comments, the authors must ensure that each comment is followed by their revision and/or response. In instances where an author disagrees with a comment or suggestion of a reviewer, please justify the reason. Any associated changes in the manuscript must be highlighted on the revised form of the manuscript to facilitate the process of reevaluation.

Resubmission of a rejected manuscript

When resubmitting a manuscript previously rejected by AIJPMS, the authors are required to upload the decision letter from the Editor requesting submission of the rejected manuscript, the original reviewer comments of the rejected manuscript, the responses to the reviewer comments, and the original manuscript number. The resubmitted manuscript must indicate, in color, where the revisions were made in the paper in response to the reviewer's comments

Double anonymized review

This journal uses double anonymized review, which means the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. To facilitate this, please include the following separately:
Title page (with author details): This should include the title, authors' names, affiliations, acknowledgments and any Declaration of Interest statement, and a complete address for the corresponding author including an e-mail address.

Anonymized manuscript (no author details): The main body of the paper (including the references, figures, tables and any acknowledgments) should not include any identifying information, such as the author's names or affiliations.

Manuscript preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft word and submitted online. If you have any questions, please contact the editor of the journal.

Paper Selection and Publication Process

  1. Upon receipt of a submission, the editor sends an e-mail of confirmation to the submission’s author within one to three working days.
  2. Peer review: We use a double-blind system for peer review; both reviewers and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The paper will be reviewed by at least two experts: one editorial staff member and one external reviewers. The review process may take three weeks.
  3. Notification of the result of review is sent by e-mail.
  4. If the submission is accepted, the authors should revise paper and pay the Article Charges.
  5. A PDF version of the article is available for download on the journal’s webpage free of charge.

Author should submit the following files:

  1. Title page
  2. Manuscript main file (file without author names)
  1. General Requirements

1.1 Language and Numbers

1.2 Length of Paper

Papers between 3,000 and 8,000 words are preferred.

  1. Title Page

To ensure the integrity of the peer review process, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other.

When you upload a submission file, author identities should be removed from it. You should upload the title page as a supplementary file for the editor to review.

Title page should include:

1-      Title of the article

2-      Authors’ names and affiliations

3-      Funding statement

4-      Conflict of interest

5-      Acknowledgement

6-      Author contribution

7-      Authors consent of publication

Accepted similarity check should not exceed 15%. iThenticate will be sent once, if after author's resubmission is still above 15%, the manuscript will be rejected automatically.

2.1 Title

Title should be concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. Short running title is required and should not exceed 60 characters.

Title: Only the first letter of every word should be capital, taking into considerations words which should be italic (eg. In silico), or small letter as the species name of a microorganism.

2.2 Authors’ Names and Affiliations

The preferred form of an author’s name is first name, middle initial(s), and last name; this form reduces the likelihood of mistaken identity. To assist researchers as well as librarians, use the same form for publication throughout your career; that is, do not use initials on one manuscript and your full name on a later one. Omit all titles (e.g., Dr., Professor) and degrees (e.g., PhD, PsyD, EdD).

The authors’ affiliation identifies the location of the author(s) at the time the research was conducted, which is usually an institution. Include a dual affiliation only if two institutions contributed substantial support to the study.

The paper should be organized in the following order

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Introduction
  4. Methods
  5. Results
  6. Discussion
  7. Conclusion
  8. Acknowledgments
  9. Ethics approval and consent to participate • Competing interests • Funding statement • Authors’ contributions
  10. References

Section titles such as abstract, introduction, experimental methods, discussion, conclusion and reference, the first letter only should start with a capital letter.

Use the following rules for the entire text, including abstract, keywords, headings, and references.

  • Font: Times New Roman; Size: 10 pt.
  • Paragraph Spacing: Above paragraph — 0 pt.; below paragraph — 10 pt.
  • Line Spacing: fixed, 12 pt.
  • Heading 1: Times New Roman; 14 pt.; Bold; for example, 1. First-level Heading
  • Heading 2: Times New Roman; 12 pt.; Bold; for example, 1.1 Second-level Heading
  • Heading 3: Times New Roman; 10 pt.; Bold; for example, 1.1.1 Third

Abstract

The abstract should contain the main research purpose, brief talk about the methods and the main results, it should be read and understood without going back to the full paper, it should be free of any references.

Keywords

Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 8 keywords, avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts (e.g., “and,” “of”). Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.

Equations

The text size of equations should be similar to normal text size. The formula should be placed center justified.

Tables

Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Place a table’s caption above the table’s body and its description below the body. Ensure that the data presented in tables do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article (Tables should be uploaded in a separate file).

Figures and Schemes

Number figures consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Place a figure’s caption and description below the figure body. A minimum resolution of 300 DPI is required (Figures should be uploaded separately).

Ethics approval and consent to participate

References

References are written in Vancouver style. The reference and citation styles are not interdependent on each other.

Citation of references

For numbered citations, Arabic numbers are used. The reference numbers are given in superscript (need to be consistent throughout the article).

Single citation: Number1 • Multiple citations (numbers should be in numerical and sequential order): - Use en dashes to join the first and last numbers of a closed series: Number2–6 - Use commas without a space to separate other parts of multiple citations: Number2–6,8

All references must be numbered consecutively, in the order in which they are cited in the text, followed by any in tables or legends. Reference citations should not appear in titles or headings. Each reference must have an individual reference number.

Please avoid excessive referencing. If automatic numbering systems are used, the reference numbers must be finalized, and the bibliography must be fully formatted before submission.

DOIs in references

The journal/publisher encourages authors to cite those items (journal articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, technical reports, working papers, dissertations, etc.) that have DOIs. When the cited items have DOIs, the authors should add DOI persistent links to the regular references. The DOI persistent links should be the last elements in the references. The persistent links should be active.
